An MSU NetID is your unique electronic identity that gives you access to a growing number of online services at the University. Once you have a Campus Wide Identifier (CWID) number, you can set up a NetID. This will be used to give you access to Canvas and many other University supported tools.
- How to Set Up a NetID
Step 1: Get a Campus Wide Identifier (CWID) number. You should receive a CWID after you are admitted to MSU.
Step 2: Set up your NetID by completing the online MSU NetID Account Form.
Step 3: You are ready to begin using University technology services.

Electronic Reserves (eReserves), are online resources located in the MSU Canvas Course Management System. eReserves provide web access to course-related readings and other materials selected by instructors. For more information on eReserves, visit the MSU Sprague Library website.
- Citation Tools
Citations allow the reader to retrace an author’s research. Therefore, electronic as well as other kinds of citations should be as complete as possible. Completeness in electronic citation means including the complete address of the site, the date the page was loaded or refreshed by the webmaster, and the date you viewed it. There are a few citation searching resources available to you. For more information, review the services section on the MSU Sprague Library website.
