- NetID
An MSU NetID is your unique electronic identity that gives you access to a growing number of online services at the University. Once you have a Campus Wide Identifier (CWID) number, you can set up a NetID. This will be used to give you access to Blackboard and many other University supported tools. - How to Set Up a NetID
Step 1: Get a Campus Wide Identifier (CWID) number. You should receive a CWID after you are admitted to MSU.
Step 2: Set up your NetID by completing the online MSU NetID Account Form.
Step 3: You are ready to begin using University technology services.
- How to Access MSU Email
Your MSU email address is based on your MSU NetID (your last name plus one or more characters from your first name and a number at the end). Access your webmail by visiting: webmail.montclair.edu and enter your MSU NetID and password. You can find documentation on how to access webmail or set up your email client to access MSU email on the OIT email documentation webpage. Help Desk Support

Blackboard
Blackboard is Montclair State University's official course management system. This will serve as the primary tool used to structure all online and hybrid courses.

- Electronic Resources
The MSU Sprague Library provides access to a wide variety of electronic databases, articles, and video/audio streaming. For more information, visit the library website. - eReserves
Electronic Reserves (eReserves), are online resources located in the MSU Blackboard Course Management System. eReserves provide web access to course-related readings and other materials selected by instructors. Citations allow the reader to retrace an author's research. Therefore, electronic as well as other kinds of citations should be as complete as possible. Completeness in electronic citation means including the complete address of the site, the date the page was loaded or refreshed by the webmaster, and the date you viewed it.
